Encryption in transit & at rest

All traffic between your device and YouthShield is encrypted with TLS. Data stored in our database is encrypted at rest.

Data protection

We collect the minimum data needed to run the service. We never sell data, and we never share it with advertisers.

Family-scoped data access

Every record is tied to a family. Row-level security in our database enforces that only your family can read your family's data — even if our application code had a bug.

Child profile protection

Child profiles are sensitive by default. Only verified parents and invited co-parents can view or edit them. There is no public, indexable view of a child profile.

Account security

Passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms. We support strong passwords, password reset by email, and Sign-in-with-Google. Sessions can be revoked at any time.

Family privacy

Co-parents you invite get the access you choose. Read-only guardians cannot change settings. You can remove a member from your family at any time.

Trusted infrastructure

We host on reputable cloud infrastructure with isolated databases, automated backups and least-privilege access for our team.

Incident response

If something goes wrong, we'll tell you. We have a documented process for investigating and disclosing security incidents.

Shared responsibility

YouthShield protects the platform. You protect your account by using a strong, unique password and keeping your devices up to date. Together, that keeps your family safe.

Reporting a vulnerability

If you've found a security issue, please email security@youthshield.com. We respond within one working day and aim to acknowledge valid reports the same day.
