Child Safety & Safeguarding Policy

Our commitments to every child whose family uses YouthShield.

Last updated · June 2026

Transparent monitoring

Children are always told YouthShield is installed and what it does. Hidden surveillance is never acceptable.

Minimal data collection

We only collect the data needed to keep children safe — nothing else.

Conversation, not control

Our tools are designed to start healthy conversations, not replace parenting.

Wellbeing-first design

Every feature is reviewed against its impact on a child's emotional wellbeing.

Our commitments

  • Child profiles can only be created and managed by an authenticated parent or guardian.
  • We never market to children. There is no advertising in YouthShield.
  • We design for transparency between parent and child — every restriction, request and report is visible to both.
  • We do not train AI models on identifiable child data.
  • We support parents to have age-appropriate conversations about online safety through our Help Centre.

If you're worried about a child

YouthShield is not an emergency service. If a child is in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services.

For non-urgent safeguarding concerns related to use of YouthShield, contact our safeguarding team at safeguarding@youthshield.com.
